I was expecting a stiff pomade, but instead, this product acts like a hair grease. It has a sweet smell and it does feel smooth. Its just not a real pomades like most pomades are.

My hair is prone to dryness and it’s super long and type4. This works as well as blue magic and smells heavenly. I used it on my hair minus my scalp due to my history of ezcema, but I can’t wait to take my twists out!

Smells great! I use on days where I need some serious frizz fighter. Leave hair soft – it’s a buildable product so you can start small and add more as needed. A must in my curly hair arsenal.

First, all of Carol’s daughter’s products smells so fresh and organic. Love all of the products they have produced for hair care. I love this product because it does not feel heavy. It makes my hair feel lush and radiant. I even feel like since I have been using Carol’s daughter products, my hair has grown and become much thicker. As a consumer, I strongly recommend getting all of Carol’s daughter products for your daily hair care regime.

I’m enjoying this product but it seems to have some white solid clumps of oil. I’m not sure if it indicates it’s aged.

This is like the hair grease I was taught to use before I learned how to really care for my natural 4c hair, but it’s so much better. It’s all natural, nourishing oils and waxes instead of mineral oil. There’s no buildup which is amazing. This “grease” actually has a silky consistency.
I use a leave-in conditioner on my damp hair and then rub this into my hair for general health and protection. When I don’t feel like stying my hair I quickly massage a bit of this into my hair and then throw on a baseball cap. One time I did that for a week straight and my hair was extremely soft afterward (normally caps destroy my ends and dry out my hair). Been using this for a while and I couldn’t imagine using any other hair pomade honestly.

My hair isn’t very long, so what I write here may only be of interest to others with short hair. I have perhaps the coarsest or second-most coarse grade of hair a human being can have. I also have a naturally dry scalp that needs tons and tons of moisturizing, otherwise my head will start looking like an ant farm. As you can imagine, managing my hair has always been an issue for me. I use the Mimosa Hair Honey, along with a few other Carol’s Daughter products, to make my hair “something manageable.”
This particular product works great, as several other reviewers have mentioned. My scalp is no longer dry, and my hair is significantly softer in part because of it (I also use Vanilla Hair Smoothie), making it easier to manage. I’m actually starting to get waves, something I wasn’t sure would ever happen for me.
However, one drawback is that this product is quite greasy, which I do not enjoy at all. This partly explains why my hair has been so dry and kinky in the past. Growing up, I’d rather go nappy than greasy, if those were my only two choices. But I found a workaround for the greasy issue, for those who are interested: First things first, you don’t need a whole lot of this. Seriously, a little goes a long way. Before going to bed, I just dab the tip of one finger into the product and use just that amount for my entire scalp. I then put on a cap and call it a night. When I wake up, most of the product has been absorbed by my scalp and hair follicles, but there still is some greasy residue. I get rid of this by putting in some Carol’s Daughter Black Vanilla Hair Smoothie, then rinsing it out with water. Doing this gets rid of all the grease, while your hair retains all of the moisture and texture from overnight. I used to finish off the process by using a little of Carol’s Daughter’s Hair Milk, but my hair and scalp no longer need that.
The result? Manageable natural hair that isn’t greasy.

I use this over and over again. It smells fantastic, the scent sticks with you. My hair soaks every bit of it up, leaving my hair very shiny, noticeably healthier in appearance and manageability. Great price, Highly recommend.
